Azhar Iqbal Hussain Deputy Managing Director

Azhar Iqbal is one of the founder shareholders of Foundation Securities and is credited with conceiving the idea of partnership between Fauji Foundation and a group of professionals to form Foundation Securities. Azhar has over a decade of corporate finance advisory and capital markets experience in Pakistan wherein he has led several large and complex transactions.

Prior to joining Foundation Securities, Azhar was working with Fauji Foundation in the Investment Division responsible for advising the Board of Directors on management of a diversified strategic investments portfolio (valued at over USD 1 billion) in addition to originating and structuring new strategic investment initiatives of the Foundation.

Azhar has also worked with KASB Securities Limited (Pakistan affiliate of Merrill Lynch) as a Director, responsible for the investment banking business of the firm in addition to heading the regional operations. Working as the point person in Pakistan, Azhar worked closely with the Merrill team on various transactions including the privatisation of OGDCL and PPL. Before KASB, Azhar was associated with ABN AMRO in various capacities including equities research, structured products development, corporate finance and branch management.

Azhar has also been a Director on the Boards of various companies including Mari Gas Company Limited, Fauji Cement Company Limited, Fauji Kabirwala Power Company Limited, KASB Securities Limited and KASB Leasing Limited.
